1) This is a semi-literate role play.
All posts must be a minimum of 5 sentences long, though preferably longer. The longer the thread gets, the shorter posts tend to get; please try to avoid this. One liners are boring, show a complete lack of effort, and are nearly impossible to respond to. Posts don't have to be perfect, but please try to speak in understandable English. God invented Spell Check for a reason. Please, utilize it. A typo or two is alright; just don’t let it happen very often Be sure to add description! It makes the entire experience more fun for everyone, and makes it easier for the other person to reply. Acceptable: As Bob walked joyously onto the first route of the Rileya Region, he let out his starter Pokémon. He had chosen to be original, and get a Charmander. And then, with still more originality, he named it Charmander as well. Yay for originality! The duo excitedly began searching for Pokémon, wondering who they'd see first. They carefully examined every nearby bush for the Pidgeys and scanned the mountain tops in the distance for Zapdos’. Hopefully Charmander would have an advantage over either of them.... Unacceptable: Bob and Charmander wakled on to route one an dlooked 4 pkmn. Lyk Zapadoz.
Now, that is overdoing it a bit, and the posts are both rather short for entrance posts, but do you see the general difference? 2) No chatspeak.
If you’re not roleplaying it's okay, but please, even there, keep it to a minimum. It makes it easier on everyone, and makes you look better. It takes about a half a second longer. So what have you got to lose? 3) Spamming.
Just, don’t do it. Ever. Or the Spamming Monster will come and spray Spam all over your house at night. And we wouldn’t want that, now would we? 4) No flaming, godmoding, or powerplaying.
These really are depressing to explain – really, if you’re on a semi-literate site, you should know. However, if you happen to be an amazingly talented writer whom has never roleplayed before, just pm me and I'll let you know =) Flaming, here, refers to flaming of the roleplayer. It is okay to flame other characters IN CHARACTER. Flaming someone’s character as yourself, out of character, is just as bad as flaming them personally. I understand having tempers. Everyone has them. Just keep it in check. Look over what you’re typing before pressing Enter and everyone will stay nice and happy. 5) Your character cannot start out understanding PokéSpeak.
However, they can learn it eventually! Body language is usually understood through all species, as well. Don’t be afraid to try out a nice game of charades with your team! Once you reach the not-so-humble city of Melodark, the sage there can give you herbs if you complete his quest that, when eaten, will allow to you be completely bilingual. As an extra special bonus feature, you will ALSO be able to fluently speak, as well as understand every language! That includes everything from English to Chinese to PokéSpeak to Dutch to ancient Greek! So you can have full conversations with your Pokémon after reaching Melodark and have completed the sage's quest and confuse people who haven’t completed it! If you are a PokéMorph, you understand PokéSpeak from the beginning. See below for more information. If you have admin permission, your character can start out understanding your Pokémon's PokéSpeak. They cannot, however, understand wild Pokémon or the Pokémon of another trainer until they speak to the sage. 6) Your Signature
Your signature cannot stretch the page! If it does, the admins will delete your signature and increase your warning level for one week. As a reference, our board's width is 728 pixels, and your signature will not be stretching across the entire section. It must have a link to your character's PC. This is extremely helpful to mods when determining how wild Pokemon and trainers react to individual Pokemon, what level to make them and to determine the attacks and levels gained at the end of battles. Please do not have any sparkling or large font, or more than two images - unless they are trainer cards. For slower monitors, those can take forever to load.
7) Your Accounts
You may have a maximum of three characters per account and... Because of the new money system, you may have two characters per account - though it is preferred if you have one per account. If you have two, any money on your account will be split in half for each character. You can have as many accounts as you can keep active. During a promotion, unless otherwise stated, only one of your characters can receive the promotion.
8) Please tell us when you will be gone.
If you post in the Vacations board to say you'll be gone for a while, please list all your accounts! Inactivity is not a reason to get deleted, but it's nice to know that someone's gone for a reason, and not just, you know, leaving ^_^ 9) PokéMorphs
PokéMorphs are allowed, but only with permission as of right now. If you are a PokéMorph, you can use your abilities anywhere besides battles. You will not have levels or attacks besides HM moves. For example, if you are a bird morph, you can learn the move Fly yourself and fly wherever you've already been. Granted, being half-bird could cause problems with training... As a PokéMorph with extra powers and a generally cool appearance, as well as being capable of understand PokéSpeak as soon as you begin instead of having to complete the sage's quest, only the most literate and/or active members of the site will be allowed to have a character who is a PokéMorph. If you receive permission to be a PokéMorph, it is advised that you be the final stage of the Pokémon. As mentioned above, you cannot train nor gain levels; you are what you are, and there is no changing that. No legendary morphs are allowed unless I announce that we are looking for one. They will sometimes be necessary for plots, and other times, it will be because we simply feel like being generous.

Wherever there are rules, there are people who break them. And wherever rules are broken, their are punishments for those who do. Rileya is no exception.
Powerplaying and Godmoding
Powerplaying is an easy thing to do by mistake. We all do it. As such, the person powerplaying will not be punished for the smaller incidents. The admins will only intervene if it continues going after the powerplayer has been notified. If you are roleplaying with someone, whether it be a mod or another user, and you think that they are powerplaying, tell them first in ooc, and do so politely. "I think you're being a little bit too controlling," is all that's really necessary. If, and ONLY if, the powerplaying continues, alert an admin. Follow the same rules for godmoding. If you refuse to let your Pokemon faint every now and then and make them basically indestructible, you will automatically lose.
First (Major) Offense: Temporary note on account Second Offense: Second temporary note on account Third Offense: +10% warning; 10% of money removed Fourth Offense: +15% warning; 10% of money removed Fifth Offense: +35% warning; 20% of money removed Sixth Offense: Warning bar moved up to 99%; 50% of money removed Seventh Offense: All money removed; Banned from site for three days Eighth Offense: Money set to negative figures; Banned from site for one week Ninth Offense: IP banned for good.
For going two weeks without powerplaying or godmoding, your warning bar will decrease by 15%.
So, don't powerplay or godmode.
Flaming
Flaming is flaming, regardless of who you're flaming. It does not matter if the person being flamed is a guest, a user, a mod, an admin - whoever it is, the offender will be punished. If a flamer flames this site as a whole, their IP will be banned without question. If you don't like this site, either do not join or delete your account. Voicing your rude opinions is unnecessary and ruins other people's experience here. It will not be tolerated. If someone flames you, notify an admin. You should not have to deal with them; we are the leaders of the site, and therefore gain the responsibility of taking care of situations such as this. Please do not feel like you should get into a flaming contest with the person flaming you; whether provoked or not, flaming is flaming. Who started it is irrelevant, and both people would be punished (if guests, both would be banned) equally. There is no reason for you to have to go through any of that.
Flaming of other people First Offense: +80% warning Second Offense: Banned from site for two weeks Third Offense: IP banned for good.
Flaming is taken extremely seriously here. Do not do it. Ever.
